Inside and outside-a new year

Going into New Year-make a commitment!

First read Psalm 119…all of it is on the importance of God’s Word! So going into the new year make a commitment to read the most important book of all time-the bible-all the way through. After all if God wrote us a guide book for life don’t it make sense we should read it and know it????

Psalm 119:1-2 

1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way,

Who walk in the law of the Lord!

2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,

Who seek Him with the whole heart!

Be blessed by God…read, know, keep, and obey the Word of God in 2019 and beyond!!!

Christmas is over now what?

For the follower of Jesus the worship and serving of the Lord is never over. We should be energized to continue to proclaim Jesus, help others, love all, and serve the Lord will al we have! As a friend said….”Don’t pack up Jesus with the decorations”!

Colossians 3:23-24 

23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for[a] you serve the Lord Christ.

If you only think of and worship Jesus a couple times a year you had better check your relationship with the Lord. A true follower has a lifestyle of living for Jesus!!!

Luke 2:11 

11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

I pray all know the Savior of the World and worship Him alone!

Try all you want…

One can try all they want but their is none like God or even close to being equal to God!

Isaiah 40:25 

26 “To whom then will you liken Me,

Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.

Think about the Love of God…sending Jesus to die for sinners so they can have eternal life.

Think about the mercy of God…forgiving those who deserve hell.

Think about the power of God…Creating the universe and you and I without even breaking a sweat.

You can try all you want to discredit God but you will fail because He is the One and only God so worship and adore Him as He deserves!

Gifts From God!

As we move closer to the day we celebrate Christmas let us remember all the blessings of life (gifts) come from God!

John 3:27 

27 John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

With the Greatest Gift Of All being Jesus.

Romans 6:23 

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let us never forget this and remind all during our gatherings this Christmas season.

Thank you Lord for all the gifts you shower down upon us each day and thank you for Jesus the One who provided salvation for all!

Stay humble folks!

For the follower of Jesus we must remember to strive to be like Jesus. One of His characteristics was humbleness! God makes it very clear in His Word He does not like pride!!! So let us be a humble people for He warns us if we decide to be prideful:

Proverbs 16:18 

18 Pride goes before destruction,

And a haughty spirit before a fall.

When pride creeps in we can know God will bring us back to reality! He will chastise his children! So let us live like the Lord desires from His children and be blessed!

God is the Sustainer!

A reminder God is in control of everything including you!

Psalm 3:5 

5 I lay down and slept;

I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.

Every breath we take is all by the love and mercy of God, We deserve nothing so all we have and all we receive is a blessing from the Lord. 

Think about this every morning you wake up…God is giving you another day. Are you using it to glorify Him?

Are you separate?

God makes it clear…if we are followers of Him we are not to be like the world…we are to be clearly a separated, holy people.

2 Corinthians 6:17a

17a  Therefore “Come out from among them

And be separate, says the Lord.

So what is God seeing from us? Someone who is just like the lost world, doing all the same things? Living the life of the unsaved? Or does He see someone who knows His Word and strives to live a holy life, separating himself from worldly desires? Striving to be like Jesus!

Let us be a separated people, not a hermit, but in the world serving the Lord, but not of the world!!!

What ya gonna brag on today?

So what are you gonna brag on today? Your kids? Your job? Your self? Your dog? For the follower of Jesus there is only ONE that is worthy to brag on!!!!

Psalm 34:2 

2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;

The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

Psalm 44:8 

8 In God we boast all day long,

And praise Your name forever. Selah

The Lord deserves to be praised by His children. Shout it from the rooftops!!!! God is awesome!!! We love Him! Brag on the Lord!

Simple Facts About God!

1 Samuel 2:2 

2 “No one is holy like the Lord,

For there is none besides You,

Nor is there any rock like our God.

1. Only God is truly Holy!!!!!
2. There is only ONE God.
3. God is unmovable and powerful and there is nothing like Him!

This verse is a great reminder about God. Let us make sure we are following and worshipping and He deserves!

Only way to truly find God and know Him intimately is to go all in with everything you got!

Jeremiah 29:13 
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

All Cares!

We seem to have a bad habit of giving God some of our worries and holding on to some. God wants us to give them all to Him! If we hold on to some we can be moved but when we put them in God’s hands nothing can move Him or us!

Psalm 55:22 

22 Cast your burden on the Lord,

And He shall sustain you;

He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

God has always sustained me no matter the outcome when I have given Him completer control of my burdens. That is the key to give Him completer control and do not try to hold onto some and try to solve them on my own!

All my burdens are yours Lord! Lead me and sustain me as you promise in your word!

Know God…do great things!

Those who truly know God and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit will do great things for the Lord!

Daniel 11:32b

32b but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

Why is this true? Because followers of Jesus know He has given us a great love for others and for God and He desires we serve Him. So we do and all we do for the Lord is great things!

If you know God, do great things and glorify our amazing God!

This is the follower’s life.

As usual the bible makes the mission of the Jesus follower’s life plain and simple:

John 17:3 

3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

The true follower’s life is eternal. What are we to do with this life? Get to KNOW God more and more and more. For there is only ONE God and He sent His only Son Jesus to die for you and me whom are sinners.

So as a follower are you getting to know God more and more? Only way to do that is through an intense study of the Word and much time in prayer.

How well do you know God? It may say much about your relationship with God!

A simple reminder

Jesus reminds us of a simple fact:

John 14:15

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

If we love Jesus we will obey His Word. Do you love Jesus. To add to this you must know His Word to obey it. How much of His Word do you know?

Love Jesus…obey Him!

Does God know you?

A reminder this day that God knows those who have put their trust in Him!

Nahum 1:7 

7 The Lord is good,

A stronghold in the day of trouble;

And He knows those who trust in Him.

3 facts here:

1. God is good—-no question about that!
2. When troubles arise He is our stronghold—-their is no where else to turn!
3. God knows those who have put their faith and trust in Him and those are the ones He will defend!

So let me ask again….Does God know you? He can if you put your faith, trust, and love in Him!

Do you have the Shepherd?

We have many decisions in life to make. One decision is more important than any other. The decision to allow Jesus to be your shepherd. Have you done that?

John 10:11 

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Jesus is the only Shepherd who gave His life for you! So you could have eternal life in heaven forever. But you must become one of His sheep. Are you willing to give up all and follow Him? Your decision and brother or sister it is the most important decision you will ever make!

No matter what the world and Satan tries to bring my way I know whom I belong to and where I stand! I will not be moved! I stand with my Lord Jesus!

Psalm 62:1-2 

1 Truly my soul silently waits for God;

From Him comes my salvation.

2 He only is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense;

I shall not be greatly moved.

Trust God not man!

In life be sure to know we are all sinners! None of us are perfect and will let others down at some point. Many tend to look to those who lead our country for answers…don’t make that mistake either. There is ONE in whom we can put all out trust and  hope in…..

Proverbs 29:26 

26 Many seek the ruler’s favor,

But justice for man comes from the Lord.

It is that simple folks! Trust God and His ways for He in the one we will answer to one day soon.

What are you looking at???

There is only ONE person to look at:

Hebrews 12:2 

2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus started our faith, He finished providing all we need to be save upon the cross, counted it as joy to die for you and I, took our shame, and is now sitting at the right hand of God awaiting the command to come and get those who have put out faith in Him to take us to heaven!!!!

So whom or what are you looking at today for answers? If it isn’t Jesus, it isn’t right!

Just look around!

As an outdoorsman, I have been amazed over and over again by God’s creation. It speaks to me and reminds me of how awesome God is!!! 

Psalm 19:1-2 

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;

And the firmament shows His handiwork.

2 Day unto day utters speech,

And night unto night reveals knowledge.

Take a look around and see God. He reveals Himself in so many ways! Don’t miss it!!!

Follow Godly counsel only!

For the follower of Jesus we should take counsel for our lives only from those who also are following the Lord! Why? Because the teachings of the Lord are much different than the teachings of those who follow the worlds ways! Look at this verse:

Psalm 1:1a 

1a Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly

When we follow the Lord and the counsel of godly brothers and sisters then we will be blessed by God because we will be doing His will in our lives!

So be wise in whom your listen to!!!!
