Made to be our sin.

Just think about this verse:

2 Corinthians 5:21
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus was made to take our sin upon His perfect self so we can be made right with God. We deserve judgement and hell because we are wicked sinners but Jesus took it all on our behalf. All we have to do is put our faith in Him and let Him be Lord of our life!

Chew on that for a while today and then give thanks to Jesus for His love for us!

Choose Now!

Choose now whom you shall serve….the world or the Lord! When hardships come up is not the time to have to make this decision. It should already be mad in your mind and your heart. Remember God is the One who made you and loves you, He wants you to give your all to Him!

Psalm 62:6

6 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.

No matter what comes my way I know where I am gonna stand! On the Rock! Fo He has provided my salvation because He loves me. He is my defense and will take care of me always in the way that is best. And I will not be moved no matter what Satan throws my way for the lord is worthy of all my devotion!

So choose this day whom you will serve and stand strong my brothers and sisters!

God is all I need!

Psalm 62:7

7 In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

Pretty simple verse this morning stating all we need!

  1. Our number 1 need in life is Salvation. God provides that through Jesus and thus He is our glory as we live for Him daily.
  2. God is our strength. Nothing is stronger and He is solid! Never moving from who He is…God! Perfect, Truth, Provider, and Father.
  3. God is our Refuge. There is no other place to turn for protection. He cares for His children and will take care of us! What a mighty fortress He is!

God is all we need, so let us live as faithful, obedient children who bring glory and honor to their loving God!

Holy Week is here!

As yesterday kicked of Holy week-3-25-18-as we celebrated Palm Sunday which represents the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and as He starts His march to the cross let us remember why Jesus came:

Matthew 20:28
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

He came to serve us! God came to serve us. I can not even wrap my mind all the way around that.

He came to die for us! God came to die for my sin and your sin so that if we put our faith in Him as Lord we can have eternal life with Him forever! I can not wrap my mind completely around that either but I believe!!!!

So take time this Holy Week to see what Jesus did each day up to Friday where He is crucified and then on Sunday…Praise God He rises!!!

All glory to God!

In case you did not already know it, nobody deserves glory but God. Not an athlete, not an actor, not a singer, not a preacher, and not even the President. Read this verse:

Psalm 115:1

15 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.

4 Reasons God deserves the glory:

  1. He gives mercy.
  2. He is truth.
  3. He loves us.
  4. HE IS GOD!

So this day and everyday…give God the glory He deserves and the best way to do that is to obey what He tells you to do in His Word the Bible.

Let’s Go!!!!!

1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

We have work to do for the Lord! Let’s Go! God tells us here in this verse be strong and solid! Don’t let anything know you off task. Are you working….ALWAYS?

What is our work? To make it simple it is this…Love God, Love others, share the gospel, and meet needs. This is our task as followers of Jesus!

Always remember, what we do for the Lord is not in vain no matter the results we get! His plans will be accomplished!

So Let’s Go! We have much to do for our Lord!

Need Help?

I have found in my life when I need help there is only one place to turn:

Psalm 121:2

2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

God has proven Himself faithful time and time again to those who call upon the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior of their life. He has never let me down! Even when I thought He did I later realize He knows what is best and loves me and provides just what I need at just the right moment!

Give you life to the Lord for He is good!!!

Thank you Lord for all you have done for me, I am so unworthy.

The God of compassion and mercy.

Only way to learn patience.

Many of us including myself struggle with patience at times. God reveals to us in the verse below on how to gain patience:

James 1:2-3
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

I think it is safe to say that would not be the way we want to gain patience….by trials in life!!!! But God always knows best and if He says they way to gain patience is by the text of our faith then so be it! We must go through the various trials of life and gain patience! If you think about it as long as things are going well you are not going to learn patience but only when the tests of life are taking place will one learn how to rely on God and become patient in all situations!

God help us to be patient this day with all we come in contact with even if the situation is very difficult. We have the power to do so through the Holy Spirit! Let us draw from Your power and love others at all times!

Glad to serve this God!

Isaiah 40:28

28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.

My God is eternal.
My God is Creator of all.
My God never faints.
My God is never weary.
My God is all-knowing.

There is no other God but my God.
I am thankful God loves me and let’s me serve Him!

Is this your God too?

Be Very Careful!

1 Corinthians 10:12
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Never get to the point in your life that you think you are incapable of sinning against God. If we ever get to that point we are in trouble because we have sinned because pride has set in! That is sin itself.

We all have a sinful desire and we must keep a watchful eye every second for it. If we think we have it conquered one can be assured it will pop up it’s head soon!

Be very careful not to fall as you stand for the Lord!

Let the Word dwell in you!

Are you reading the Word of God? Are you letting it dwell inside you? God tells us in His Word to do so!

Colossians 3:16
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Why get the Word inside you deeply? For wisdom! True wisdom, teaching, and correcting  only comes from a good knowledge of God’s Word!

Then when we are living as God desires we can sing praises to ur King with grace in our hearts and a tremendous love for Him!

So is God’s Word dwelling in you? Better make time immediately if it is not! If so…Praise the Lord!

Where does grace and peace come from?

Fortunately God tells us in His Word:

2 Peter 1:2
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

Grace and peace will be given to you and even multiplied in knowing God and His son Jesus. Without that knowledge and faith in Jesus you will not have peace and the grace God wants to give to you will not be available either! Only through a personal relationship with Jesus are these blessings granted!

If you don’t already have the grace and peace you can today…call upon the precious name of Jesus to be your Lord and Savior!

Get Right With God!

Why did I have to go through that?

Have you ever considered that you may go through a problem in life so you can be comforted and strengthened by God and then you can use that experience to help others and bring them to God through that same problem?

Look at these verses:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

God is so merciful to us! He loves us so much and even will use us if we allow Him to to help and love others! May we always give God the glory through the good and through the bad because He always knows what He is doing!

Use us Oh Lord for your purposes!!!

Are you gonna stand?

As followers of Jesus we have a choice….to stand for Him or the shrink back as cowards! What are you going to do?

Ezekiel 22:30
30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Let us as followers:

Make a wall-decide that we use the Word of God as a wall and never let anything that is contrary to the Word break down our wall!!! Stand upon the Word of God always!
Stand in the gap-Let us proclaim the gospel as God has commissioned us to do and let us stand in the gad for the oppressed as we also have been called to do!
One day judgement will come as Jesus returns, Let us as followers of Him be found faithful!

So how about it church…let’s stand together for the glory of our Lord!

Got Faith?

Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

If you don’t have faith, you can not please God. That is pretty simple to understand. How can you please a God you have no faith in….you can’t!

Oh but for those who do put their faith in God what a blessing it is!!! God takes care of those who seek Him! Not just seek Him a little but those who DILIGENTLY seek Him. Don’t miss that part! You see there are some who seek God just to get something from God but their heart is not in it…this does not please God. God wants us to seek Him with all we got. He is to be the number one priority!!!

So do you have faith this morning? Are you seeking God with all your heart??? If so enjoy the blessings, if not, why not start going after God with every ounce of your being today? You will not regret it!

The Lord Is Waiting!

This is a beautiful verse for all man-kind:

Acts 2:21

21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’

God loves all of us. We are made in His image! So He desires all to be saved and all we have to do is call upon His name for Salvation and we will be saved!!! It is that simple.

Once saved we then should desire to serve our Lord, this is a sign we gave our lives to Him! IF we chose not to serve and obey Him then we did not give our lives to Him as our Savior!

The Lord is waiting for all of us to come to Him! Have you? Do it now, you will not regret it! If you have come to the Lord , rejoice in the Love of our Lord!

I Like To Win!

I like to win! How about you? I am a very competitive person. So if it is a board game, trivia questions, sports, or where ever competition lies I like to win!

I have won in this world as well. So can you. If you are truly a follower of Jesus you have defeated the world, sin, and the devil! Ohhhh knowing that feels so good! However, if you have never placed your trust in Jesus you are still losing, for God has told us victory is only found in Jesus!

1 Corinthians 15:57
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is much more than about winning or losing though, it is about having a relationship with the Lord. He desires you to know Him deeply, and love Him with all that you have. He already loves you more than you can even comprehend!

So come join the winning team, and if you already have, enjoy being victorious and go tell others how to join the winning team!
