Don’t be fooled!

Hebrews 13:8-9a

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.

Don’t be fooled by the world who tries to tell you the Word of God changes. Jesus is the Word and the Word does not change! Get in your bibles and learn the Word!!! God is Holy, Just, and Righteous! His Word stands forever. Stand upon the Word not the sinking sand of the world!!!

Don’t be fooled, Jesus never changes!

Only YOU are worthy!

If I have learned anything in my 49 years it is this….only God is worthy of all honor, glory, and praise!

Revelation 4:11a

11a “You are worthy, O Lord,

To receive glory and honor and power;

If we can keep this in mind and know who is in control of all things we can face all things in the power of our Lord. Shout the praises for God is good!!!

Remember He is waiting to bring His children home to be with Him!

Remember it is not about you!

When you are a follower of Jesus we must humble our selves and  put others first. This is very hard for us to do but we can train ourselves to do it with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 18:14b

14b  for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Removing our pride for self and putting ourselves before others is not what God desires for us and we can not reach many for Jesus if we are not a humble people!

Remember this life is about serving others not ourselves!

Goal For The Day!

For the follower of Jesus, this is our goal each and everyday:

Colossians 3:17 

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Doing our best to bring God glory. In school, at work, on the ballfields, studying His Word, in prayer, raising our children, or anything else let us do it for Jesus!!!!

He is worthy of nothing but the best from His followers!

As God loves me…

As God loves me and has forgiven me of my sins against Him we must do the same for others.

1 Peter 4:8 

8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

If we truly love others as God loves us then we can forgive peoples wrong doings against us. Look past their sin and look at them as made in the image of God. 

Also remember these words of the Lord:

Matthew 6:15 

15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

May we love and forgive!!!

Luke 22:19 

19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Jesus gave His body for you! To die on the cross for your sins! So you can be set free and have eternal life in heaven with Him forever. 

Chew on that all day today. Nobody loves you more than Jesus!

He will be our guide

Even to death.

I have a Guide who has given me His Word for my guidebook, and indwells me with His presence on this side of heaven and then gives me the promise of eternity with Him in heaven forever and ever!!!

Must hear and believe!

The bible is clear….one must hear and believe the Words of Jesus to obtain heaven!!!

John 5:24 

24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

God sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross for your sin and mine. We must hear and believe the Word of God for their is no other way to be saved. 

If you are already saved then we must proclaim the Word of God so others may be saved as well! It is our duty commanded by God!

Shout it from the rooftops…Jesus is the only way to heaven!!!!

Don't do it!

The world is full of folks trying to entice faithful followers of Jesus to sin. Some knowingly and some not knowingly. We must always be on guard and striving to live a holy life before our Lord Jesus!

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.

So today and everyday be on the lookout for enticers and know your bible so you know what sin is and is not!!!!

Too Far Gone!

Did you know that a nation can get so far from God that God knows there is no hope of them coming back? That is exactly what happened to Judah during the time of Jeremiah the Prophet. I pray that our nation is not here yet!

At least three times God instructed Jeremiah not to pray for Judah!!!! Wow!

Jeremiah 7:16 

16 “Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you.

Jeremiah 11:14 

14 “So do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.

Jeremiah 14:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 Then the Lord said to me, “Do not pray for this people, for their good.

Judah had not obeyed God or responded to His correction. Whom the Lord loves He chastens and gives a chance to repent! But God told Jeremiah to lament for the dead nation because they would not repent!!!

Jeremiah 7:29-30 New King James Version (NKJV)

29 Cut off your hair and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the desolate heights; for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.’ 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight,” says the Lord. “They have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to pollute it.

Is our nation too far gone? Will our nation turn back to God and repent? Or is judgement on our doorstep?

Matter settled!

Once God speaks on a subject we can consider the matter settled! For example Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel would not bow to the golden image because God had already spoken on the subject.

Exodus 20:3 

3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

Exodus 20:5a

5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.

So when they were told to bow the matter was already settled in their hearts because God had spoken on the subject. No excuses or trying to come up with a way out just pure faith and obedience!

Warren Wiersbe said “True faith obeys the Lord and trusts Him to work out the consequences.” 

God’s Word, our guide book for life, is full of instructions and we must know it because all areas of life are covered and matters are settled by our God. Let us be faithful, uncompromising followers and leave the results up to God!

3 Let them praise Your great and awesome name—
He is holy.

Today let us thing of the greatness of our God! Slowly reread these verses and think on God and praise God. Then take some time in prayer and don’t ask for a thing just praise Him for He deserves it!

Another reason not to be ashamed!

Yesterday we talked about standing for our faith and not being ashamed of our faith in Jesus before others. Now we bring out another very important point in our faith in Jesus:

Mark 8:38

38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

Jesus tells us here if we do not stand up for Him and His Word He will not stand for us!!!!

Chew on that for a while! Are you standing up forJesus? Are you standing upon the Word of God and proclaiming it before the lost of this world? 

Don’t be ashamed, be strong in the Lord and live boldly for Jesus!

Are you ashamed?

Are you ashamed of Jesus? Before you answer think about how much you share the gospel and how much you talk about Him. We talk about the news, weather, sports, and a million other things but do we talk about our Lord and Savior?

Look at this verse:

Romans 1:16 

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Let us speak boldly and confidently and often about the Most important subject of all time! People need Jesus and salvation and it is only through Jesus they can obtain that salvation!

You need HELP!

Compared to God you are ignorant! So am I! We need all the help we can get and God in His great mercy and love has offered it to us! Why in  the world would we not take Him up in His offer????

James 1:5 

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Ask God for help and open His Word!!! READ! He will give you the wisdom you ask for!!!

This world needs the wisdom of God not man! Let’s get in the Word and learn and apply!
