Want to be blessed?

Jesus makes it plain and simple for us:

Luke 11:28
28 But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

Do you read, listen to, and obey the Word of God? Jesus said we will be blessed if we do.

God’s word is neglected by many who claim to follow Him, that is not a good thing!

Be blessed and obedient….make the Word of God a priority in your life!

Die or live?

Ever been like Paul and kinda feel like it might be better to die and be with Christ then to live in this crazy world we live in?

Philippians 1:22-23
22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Life can be very difficult but we must remember as followers of Jesus we have work to do! Share the gospel, love others, meet needs of others, and glorify the Lord with our lives! Know you are not alone in the daily struggle! Live for Jesus knowing one day soon you will be heaven with your King!!! And no more bad days!!! They will all be glorious!

All must be reminded…

As a follower of Jesus I must be reminded of this often as my flesh wants to get in the way and be stubborn!

Colossians 3:13
13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

We have been forgiven of our sins so we must forgive others for their wrong doings against us. It is hard but it is not an option. Here is another way the Lord put it:

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

God and His Word…don’t argue with it, obey it no matter how hard it is to do!

Self-Control?

We all are weak in the flesh and need help over coming sin and being able to control ourselves. This is part of the reason God gives us the Holy Spirit when we become followers of Jesus. We have very little self-control but with the power of the Holy Spirit we have the ability to have self-control at all times if we obey the warnings from the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

When we control ourselves we do it to glorify God and in the end we will receive the rewards that God has for us in heaven!

1 Corinthians 9:25
25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

So if you want true self-control surrender your life to Jesus and He will give you the power of self-control!!!

Wake up and know!

Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Wake up every morning and get in the Word of God and know how much God loves you! Then you can rejoice and be glad all day every day for there is nothing greater than knowing how much God loves you and what He has done for you through Jesus Christ in providing salvation for eternity if you will put your faith in Jesus and follow Him for the rest of your life!

God is the only thing that truly satisfies….He made you that way!

Life may be tough but…

Life is tough! Tougher for some than others. A few things we must remember:

  1. This earth is not your home if you are a follower of Jesus:

Jesus said John 17:16 “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”

2. Jesus told us as followers we would suffer on this side of heaven: John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

3. Once we get to heaven all this will seem like nothing as we will be celibate in heaven!!!

Romans 8:18
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

So keep doing the will of God no matter the cost and soon, very soon we will be with King Jesus in Paradise!

4 Words that explain much:

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God

Just think on those words.

God created
God loved
God had a plan
God is in control
God had you on His mind

Chew on that for a while today.

Back to the Beginning! You must know what God did! #8

Be Like Jesus today!

Jesus was always kind, caring, and compassionate. He loved others. Thus everything He said was needed and He tried to build others up. He shared grace with others. May we all do the same today. When we do we are like Jesus and as followers that is our goal each day!

It’s Monday….be like Jesus and bring others to Him for His glory!!!

Are you righteous?

After reading these verses you will want to be!

Psalm 34:15-17

15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.

First, there is only one way to be righteous before God, and you can not do it yourself! The ONLY way to be righteous before God is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. His blood covers us sinners and thus when we put our faith in Him and surrender our lives to His Lordship we are righteous in the eyes of God!

Second, as you see in verses above God watches, listens, and delivers them out of problems as God sees fit. Sometimes the way God delivers we get upset about….like death instead of healing for example but we must remember God is in control and always knows best.

Third, if one does not follow Jesus one day soon Jesus will return and take God’s children home and those who reject Jesus will be judged and remembered no more!

If you are not righteous in God’s eyes, you can be…..put your faith in and follow His son Jesus today!
