Samo ole tricks

The devil has not changed and is still up to his same ole tricks:

Matthew 4:8-10

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’
Here in the temptation of Jesus we see the devil offering up lies as usual. He offered Jesus rule of the world which isn't his to offer! Satan does the same thing with us...offers us things he can't give in order for us to follow him and his ways!
So what did Jesus do? He quoted the word of God and told the devil the way it is!!! "Get away!" We worship and serve God only! Let us make sure we are following the example and teachings of our Lord and Savior. He gave us the bible for a reason!!! So we have a guidebook for the holy life He desires us to live!
Don't fall for the devils tricks! Rebuke him with the Word of God!

Are you blessed?

The biggest blessing of all:

Romans 4:7

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;

The biggest blessing of all by the God who loves us is forgiveness. How did we obtain that forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus upon that old rugged cross.  Jesus covered our sins. We deserve death and hell but God in His mercy and grace and abundant love sent Jesus to take our place. Oh what a blessing. Hard for our minds to even comprehend the depth of this great love God has for us!

God blesses us all the time...food, shelter, clothing, ect. Salvation through Christ is the biggest blessing of all for without it we are separated from God. Have you received this blessing? You can all you have to do is ask God! Put you faith in Jesus today!!!

Wise for salvation

Only one book tells you how to be saved:

2 Timothy 3:15

15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The Holy Word of God is what makes us wise to salvation and tells us who we gain salvation through....JESUS! God gave us a guidebook for life. What a loving God we have! But let us not stop after salvation in reading the Word for it informs us how a holy God desires His followers to live so that we may have the abundant life He offers!
So are you in the Word? Are you leading others to the Word? It is essential to do both as a follower of Jesus!

The peace only Jesus can offer!

Jesus, as God, offers the peace only He can offer. Do you have this peace in your heart today???

John 14:27 New King James Version (NKJV)

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
In the world I live in it does not offer peace. Only a false peace that brings more pain and sorrow such as drugs, alcohol, and suicide.  But Jesus oh my sweet Jesus offers the peace of God! He took our sins, that which robs us of our peace, because it separates us from God and placed them upon himself which He took to the cross and died for us! Paid for our sins so we can have the peace of God inside of us as our relationship is restored with God!
Praise the Lord!!! I have the peace of Jesus. Nothing to fear because I have Jesus. Nothing to be troubled about because I have Jesus. Jesus is in control of my life and I have peace! Do you? You can....invite Him into your life today to be your Lord and Savior!

Trust God

Psalm 62:8

Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.

Another reminder from God's Word.

1. Trust God-He loves us.
2. Talk to Him-in the good times and the bad. He wants to hear from His children.
3. God is our protection. His hand is upon those who call Him Lord!

Thank you Lord for loving us and being here for us at all times. May we spend time with you and build our relationship with you on a daily basis. You are Lord and You are good! We love you!

Know God's will!

The bible is clear that we are to know what God's will is and then do it!

Ephesians 5:17

17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
So one might ask how do I know the will of God? The bible!!! Here are a few things we know are His will:
1. Love God with all your heart.
2. Love others even your enemies.
3. Help the needy.
4. Share the gospel.
5. Be a church member and serve.
Thats just a start as the bible reveals many things as the will of God.
Now there are decisions come up in life where we are not certain of the will of God so we must pray and wait for the answer. BUT most things are found in the bible so egt in it and find out!!!
Know God's will and do it!

What you need for satisfaction.

The wisest man that ever lived Soloman who tried every experience in life to find satisfaction came to this conclusion:

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13

1. Realize who God is.....GOD! In control of everything. Keep Him in His proper place as God and worship Him as such!

2. Read, learn, and obey God's Word. It is the guidebook for life. God gave it to us so we would know what He expects from us in life.

As Soloman says it is our duty to do these two things...fear God, and keep His commandments. Many are not are you???

Psalm 91

My mom reminded me of this psalm yesterday and I want to share it you today as we navigate through this coronavirus. pray this psalm and claim it's promises from our mighty God!

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

91
 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lordwho is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Share!!!!

As followers of Jesus and with this coronavirus going around we must still obey the bible. Perhaps now more than ever!

Hebrews 13:16
16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
There will be people in need. Let us set the example and help them. Especially those whose health is already compromised in some way so they do not have to get out in public. Nothing is ours. God has given it to us. So let us share with others!
As the verse says....God is pleased when we sacrifice for others! So let us glorify the Lord!!!

Thankful for The Shepherd!

I am so thankful for The Shepherd! There is no other shepherd like Jesus!

John 10:11

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
Jesus in His love for His people gave His life on the cross for our sins. He willingly died for your sins and my sins. We are not worthy of this Shepherd's love but He gives it to us anyway. Oh what a mighty Shepherd He is!!!!
Praise the Shepherd for Jesus is worthy of every praise we can offer up!!!!

Gotta have faith!

Do you have faith in the Lord?

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
We must have faith in Jesus and what He has done. His death, burial, and resurrection are essential in our faith of Jesus. Without these you don't believe in the Jesus of the bible! So when we come to Jesus we must believe who He is!!!!! Savior and Lord! King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Then this verse tells us when we truly have faith He rewards those who seek Him! With what? Salvation most importantly!!! Then also with many other things like the fruit of the spirit, power from the Holy Spirit, greater understanding of love, a desire to meet peoples needs, compassion, mercy, and meeting our needs along with many other things!
So do you have faith???? Seek Jesus today!!!

Do you love Jesus?

Jesus said this several times in chapter 14 of John:

John 14:23

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
If we love Jesus we will obey His Word. Proof of our love for Him. So if we don't obey His Word it is proof we do not love Him. Chew on that.
The second point is having the Holy Spirit or God Himself dwell in you. Only if you love Jesus will the Holy Spirit make His home in you! I want God living in me and guiding me!!!
So let us love Jesus, be in the Word so we know what to obey, and then obey it to prove our love of Jesus! Jesus made it very clear by saying it several times!

Don't disqualify yourself!

As a follower of Jesus we are to be setting examples for others by the way we live our lives obeying the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 9:27

27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Notice a couple of things here:
1. We are to help others by preaching the Word of God to others in a loving way.
2. We must stay disciplined by obeying the Word of God.
3. If we do not stay disciplined and then others will not listen to what we say because we are hypocrites with our own lives and people will see that.
Stay faithful and true my brothers and sisters to the Word of God!

The church should be known for this!

Jesus made it clear that if we are followers of His which makes us a part of the church that we should be known for loving each other!

John 13:35

35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Is it obvious that all the followers of Jesus at your church love one another? It should be!!! We are the ones who are to be setting the example for the world that because of Jesus and the loves He has for us that we have that same kind of love for one another! A sacrificial love!
So if we belong to a church where the people do not love one another....something is wrong and needs to be addressed immediately as that church is bringing down the name of Jesus!

We say we love Jesus but....

We say we love Jesus but we need to be sure to do what He says in His Word to prove our love!

John 14:15

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Jesus tells us here that if we love Him we will obey His word! So let each of us ask ourselves are we??? we can sum up His commandments with these two....Love God, and love others. If you fulfill these two to the fullest which includes loving our enemies then you will keep the commandments of God.
Get in the Word, Know the Word, and then obey the Word and you will prove your love for Jesus!

For You!

Jesus is preparing a place for YOU in heaven!

John 14:2

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Have you taken time to think about what this verse is saying? Jesus/God is preparing a place in heaven just for you! You don't make a special place for someone you don't love greatly thus Jesus loves you so much that He is preparing it now just for you! Are you ready to go???
Remember there is only one way to that special place....through a personal relationship with Jesus. You must make Him Lord and Savior of your life. Do that today if you have not already done so. I can't wait to see what Jesus has prepared for me!!! What about you?
