Thirsty for God?

 Psalm 42:1

As the deer pants for the water brooks,

So pants my soul for You, O God.

Are you thirsty for God? We are made to seek, find, and be satisfied in God. Some figure this out and some never do. Look what Jesus said 

John 4:14

14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

So get your thirst quenched...come to Jesus!

So God may be glorified!

 1 Peter 4:11

11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In everything we do we should be doing it so God is glorified! God gives us the ability to speak about Him and to minister to others for Him. He supplies everything we need! So obviously we should do everything to glorify Him!

Are you doing everything to bring God glory?

Sometimes we just need to be reminded that God has always been and will always be!!! So are you right with Him for you will meet Him face to face one day. The ONLY way to be right with Him is faith in His Son who died for you!

Crown of life!

 James 1:12

12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Trials and temptations will come. As a follower of Jesus you have the Holy Spirit to help you endure and overcome these things! You will be blessed when you do for God has given you the crown of life, an eternity with Him, for those who love Him and have put their faith in Him! Thank You Lord for you are good to us!

Don't miss your crown! Put your faith in Jesus now if you have not already done so!

Die and live!

 “Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.” 1 Peter 2:24

Jesus took on our sins and went to the cross and died! Now we are to dead to our sins and live a righteous life as followers of Him! Yes we will fall at times but we are to strive to be perfect like our example Jesus!!!

So die to that sin and live to be righteous like Jesus!!!

Preserved!

 Psalm 121:7

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

So thankful that God gives us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us to warn us of evil! God also gave us Jesus to save our souls for all eternity if we will follow Him as Lord and Savior!! Praise God for He has done all He can to preserve us!!!!

ONLY THIS GOSPEL!

 1 Corinthians 15:2

2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

We must remember there is only one gospel which we will be saved by! The gospel of the scriptures told by Paul and the disciples! People have tried to add to and take away from the truth so we must remain true to the Word of God! Look at the warning if we don't....you have believed in vain! Wow! Hold firmly to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for it is the power of Salvation!

Don't be ashamed!

 Romans 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

As followers of Jesus we should never be ashamed of the gospel! We should be talking about it often to others. All need to hear it for it is the ONLY way one can be saved!

So share the gospel! Tell what Jesus has done for you! There is nothing better to talk about!

Do you know God?

 Here is an easy way to know if you know God:

1 John 2:3

3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.

Are you obeying the Word of God? To do this we must also know what it says as God will not go with "I did not know" because He gave us His Word and we must be in it learning it and obeying it!

So are you striving to keep the Word? It may reveal if you really know Him or not!

Called by God!

Isaiah 43:1  

 

But now, this is what the Lord says—

                 he who created you, Jacob,
                 he who formed you, Israel:
                  “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
                I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

A reminder to Israel here of what God has done for them. The good news for us is when you become a follower of Jesus you become joint heirs with Jesus and have all these benefits as well! God is good! God has redeemed us! We are called by God! We are His!!!

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

May we always know our place before the Almighty God! God says to Keep Him first and others second in our lives. Let us be obedient to Him!

Controlling your children!

An interesting verse to think about! Eli the priest was to atleast let his sons know their wrongs even though they were grown! 

1 Samuel 3:13

13 For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.

He didn't and it would be held against his family forever! As parents we are responsible for guiding our children and let them know their sins against God to try to keep them on the godly path. Are we?

Chew on that today!

God takes care of His children

 Psalm 37:25

I have been young, and now am old;

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,

Nor his descendants begging bread.

For those who have given their lives to Jesus and have become the children of God.....God will take care of them! Always has and always will even through eternity!!! Thank you Lord for your goodness!

Are we blessed?

 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

(Psalm 33:12)

Are we still a blessed nation here in the USA? I think it is a two fold answer. Yes we are blessed in many ways compared to other nations. BUT we are slowly but surely losing our blessing status before God as we turn our backs on Israel, we turn our backs on God's Word, and.we turn our backs on God and put idols before Him. We are no longer a Christian nation s we have more who do not claim Jesus as Lord and Savior than those who do! This can change if folks will turn to Jesus

At this point though that is not looking likely!

So what are we to do as followers of Jesus? Keep the faith and keep obeying the Word of God! Remain steadfast til the end! Share the good news! We have our hope in Jesus!
