My Life Is Your’s God!

Psalm 31:14-15a

14 But I trust in you, O Lord;

    I say, “You are my God.”

15My times are in your hand;

As followers of Jesus, this should be our cry out to God!

1. We trust you Lord! This is why we have given you our lives!
2. You are my God! We will serve no other.
3. My times are in your hand. Our lives are yours to do as you wish not as we wish. 

Can we say this? Can we do this? Sometimes we are selfish and want to be our own god and control our own lives! If we are truly followers we must strive to give all of ourselves to God all of the time!

Pray for one another to do this!

Think!!!

Think before you do anything!!! As a follower of Jesus we must think carefully so we make the right decisions and are obedient to the Lord.

Proverbs 4:26-27 

26 Ponder the path of your feet;

    then all your ways will be sure.

27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left;

    turn your foot away from evil.

Good advise as always from the Word of God! Think before you make any decision and stay on the path of the Lord!!!

Nothing stops us!

Nothing stops us!

As a follower of Jesus, nothing can stop us and the work we do for the Lord!

Psalm 18:29 

29 For by you I can run against a troop,

    and by my God I can leap over a wall.

Our power is in our God! The Holy Spirit! It has nothing to do with us but everything to do with God. Claim this verse this morning and let’s get after the lost and those in need and do what God has called us to do!!!! Glorify Him!!!

Does this nation call God the Lord?

Psalm 33:12a 

12a Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,

Can we say that the United States is a nation that calls God the Lord? At one time in the past I would say that as a whole we could say yes but I am saddened to say right now I would say no. I believe there are many who would even say God is Lord but it means nothing if they are not surrendered to Him!

Can this change? Absolutely!!! We as a nation can repent and turn back to God and He will forgive! Slowly we are loosing the blessings of God as a nation we continue to push His Word aside and turn to the world and follow their ways. God will not bless this and we are starting to reap the rewards of our wayward ways.

Pray folks! It all starts with you and me being obedient to God in our own lives and then helping others see their need to follow and obey God as well.

God loves us and we need to bless God with our lives!

Where is your mind at on this Monday?

Ahhhhhh! Good ole Monday morning! A million things going on in that mind of yours this morning. How are you going to get everything done???? Stresssssss!

Well good news! I know where your mind needs to be:

Isaiah 26:3

3 You keep him in perfect peace

    whose mind is stayed on you,

    because he trusts in you.

God already knows how your day will go. He has everything under control. This is why our minds need to stay on Him, our Lord! When we trust in Him and know He will take care of everything as He sees fit, we can have the perfect peace we need for this Monday and everyday!

So get focused on the Lord and everything else will fall into place just the way God intends!

Blessings from the Word!

Psalm 119:1  

Blessed are those whose way is blameless,

    who walk in the law of the Lord!

When we obey God’s Word we are a blessed people, when we disobey we are not going to get the best God has to offer as we are disobedient! So let us obey and if we fail, confess it, and move on!

Blameless is not being perfect, but a heart that continuously seeks to follow and obey God. God knows our hearts!!!

Let’s get those blessings because we love God and want to be pleasing to Him!

Be Like Jesus!

Jesus said this: John 9:4  I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

As followers of Jesus we are told to be like Jesus. He is our example. God sent Him to do the will of God…die for sinners like us. 

Now as a follower of Jesus He sends you and me to be His Hands, Feet, and Mouth. We are to help others in need. We are to use our feet to take our mouth to share the gospel with others who will go to hell if they do not give their lives to Jesus. 

So let us be like Jesus, who has called us to a great responsibility, to do the work He has called us too!

Tell What You Know!

As followers of Jesus, we have one main job….tell what we know and have experienced in our Lord Jesus!

Acts 4:20 

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

Share the gospel, tell of the amazing love and the wonderful works of Jesus. God desires that none should perish in hell. He saved us and wants to use us to save others by sharing the good news.

So tell what you know!!! It is expected of us from our Lord!

Under Control?

As followers of Jesus we have an obligation to keep ourselves under control as we serve our Lord.

1 Corinthians 9:27 

27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Don’t miss a few things here:

1. Discipline your body-that means you will have to deny yourself things you know God says stay away from!
2. Bring it into subjection-that means bring your body under control. If something is out of wack, with the power of the Holy Spirit, you can get it under control!
3. Preached to others-we have a job of sharing Jesus!!! If we are sinning others don’t want to listen to us.
4. Become disqualified-as I said above we are no different than the lost world than folks don’t want Jesus! Let us be like Jesus!

So are you under control? You can be with the help of God!!! Let’s do this!

When to speak.

The bible is so awesome. Very little did God not include in His Word to guide our lives. He loves us that much! Here is one teaching that is very helpful for all of us:

Proverbs 17:27-28 

27 He who has knowledge spares his words,

And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.

28 Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;

When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.

Much talk can create problems, for the one who talks much often makes claims that can create difficulties. If we take Jesus for example He usually spoke only when needed and what the Father gave Him to say. Even when He had the opportunity to defend himself before the being led away to death, He said very little.

So let us heed the Word of God and use our words carefully and in a way that will be pleasing to the Lord!

Are you walking in the light?

Another great verse this morning to remind us of what we are to be doing as followers of Jesus!

1 John 1:7 

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1. Are you walking in the light? This means walking in the truth of God’s Word. T do this you must know what it says so you must be reading it faithfully! Then you do what it says!!!! Jesus demands that as followers we obey His commandments!
2. Jesus is the light! The light of the world. He is the Word! He is truth! Again are you in the light??
3. When we are in the light (Jesus) we will have fellowship with one another (the church). Those who say they have no need of the church to follow Jesus blatantly disregard the Word of God and thus are wrong!
4. When we are walking in the light we are followers of Jesus and thus have been cleansed from our sins by the blood of Jesus for there is no other way to walk in the light!

Praise the Light of the world for He has provided salvation and loves us so very much!!

We must endure!

I think it is safe to say that all of us would agree that life is tough. We all face struggles and hardships but we must remember why we are here and what we must do:

Hebrews 10:36 

36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

What are we here? To do the will of God which is follow and worship Jesus and lead others to do the same by sharing Jesus with them. This is our main purpose!

So what must we do everyday as the struggles, hardships, and good times come our way? Endure! Know God is in control and trust Him! 

What happens when we endure? You will receive the promise of eternal life with God in heaven for eternity. Could we ask for anything better? I think not!

Pray for one another and let us endure together!

Only One true profit!

Money seems like the number one issue in our lives because we have to have some to survive! But that can not be our main focus for we have something more important to think about….our soul!

Mark 8:36 

36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 

God has given us an opportunity for heaven by following Jesus His Son as Lord and Savior. Jesus must be our priority….He is to be Lord of our lives not money, a relationship, a hobby, or anything else!!! 

Jesus is our profit in life! Have you made Him your priority for if you choose money or something else it becomes your idol. You worship it and put it first in your life and thus do not do what God has said to do and that leads to only one place….hell. Where as the scripture says “you forfeit your soul”. 

So who or what is your priority? Does your life prove it?

How to be content in all areas of life

The Apostle Paul reveals the secret of how to be content always! He should know as he faced many trials and tribulations in life…hunger, being stoned to the point of death, ship wrecked, snake bit, imprisoned, and so much more. So here is the secret:

Philippians 4:12-13 

12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Did you catch it? Through Him! The key to being content in everything life throws at you is JESUS. When you have put your faith in Jesus you know God will take care of everything as He sees fit and that is good enough for the follower of Jesus. Jesus gives us all the strength we need!

So follow Jesus and let Him fill you with peace and contentment, I am thankful for this in my life!

Let us remember…

Let us remember like the centurion:

Matthew 8:8 

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

What do I want us to see?

“Lord, I am not worthy…”

We are not worthy of anything the Lord does for us so let us never forget that! But in His mercy and love he lavishes us with blessings. The biggest blessing of all is salvation through His son Jesus! Everything else is just an additional blessing!

Oh Lord we are not worthy but we are thankful and we give you praise!

Job 41:11 

11 Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him?

Everything under heaven is Mine.

A simple reminder that everything is God’s! He just let’s us borrow it. We are to be good stewards of all we are allowed to have. 

Then we are to give thanks to God for everything for it is His not ours! Have you thanked God lately? We have nothing without God!  

Thank you Lord!!!! We are grateful for all!!!

Psalm 104:1 

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul!

    O Lord my God, you are very great!

You are clothed with splendor and majesty,

How does one bless the Lord? By giving you life to Him, obeying Him, serving Him, loving Him, praying to Him, listening to Him, and praising Him! Are you blessing the Lord?

The Psalmist says “my God”! Can you say the same? Do you have a personal relation ship with Jesus??? You can just ask Jesus into your life!

God is great!!!! No ONE greater!

God is Sovereign! Our King clothed in splendor and majesty! No other King can compare in any way to our God!

Sp praise Him this day!!! Every day for He alone is worthy!!!!!

Good advice!

This day will bring highs and lows, but we know God is in control so we will do as the Word of God says:

Philippians 4:4 

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.

Will you join me and rejoice in the goodness, love, mercy, and grace of God!!??

Give God all you got!

A little reminder from the Word of God:

Matthew 22:37 

37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Give God all you got today, tomorrow, and everyday He blesses you with. God is worthy and may we love Him the way He deserves which should translate into worship and service for our King!

Let’s go church! We only have so much time to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

We belong to God!

Psalm 100:3 

3  Know that the Lord, he is God!

    It is he who made us, and we are his;[a]

    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Know who God is this Psalm starts out with! That is important because with out having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus you can not be the child Of God!

Know God made you! You did not evolve God personally formed you in the womb. He loves you!

Know we are His because He made us but He gives you free will to chose to follow and worship Him alone. Your choice.

Know we are His people when we choose to follow Him! God allows us to be His people. Not sure we can really comprehend what all that means!

Know He is our Shepherd and we are His sheep. He will take care of us, protect us, and will provide for His sheep forever in His pasture heaven!
