Keep your attitude in check!

We must remember to keep a humble attitude! After all we have done nothing and God has done everything so if we want to brag…brag on God!

1 Peter 5:5 

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble.”

God does not like proud, arrogant attitudes! He wants us to be humble and put others first! So let’s keep our attitudes in check and be pleasing to the Lord!

Are you thirsty?

Have you ever been so thirsty and all you wanted was just a glass of water? You longed just for a drink so bad and when you finally got it, it was sooooooo wonderful!!!!!

This is the kind of picture we need when thinking of worshipping and following Jesus!

Psalm 63:1 

1 O God, You are my God;

Early will I seek You;

My soul thirsts for You;

My flesh longs for You

In a dry and thirsty land

Where there is no water.

Seek God early and often and quench that thirst which only He can provide! He is God, He loves us, and His desire is that we worship, love, follow, and obey with all that we have. Then he refreshes us with soul quenching peace and fills that space in us that was made for only Him!!!

Are you thirsty….fill your self with the Lord!

A choice today and everyday.

Everyday we must choose to do this:

Romans 12:1 

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

We must present ourselves to God, sacrificing our desires, and follow Him. After all He tells us it is our reasonable service. He is not asking anything He doesn’t deserve!

Be a living sacrifice for the Lord today and everyday. He sacrificed all for you, so we must sacrifice for Him in return!

We have nothing to brag about ourselves but we have MUCH to brag about of our God! Praise Him and tell others what He has done in saving our souls!

Sadly, many times we don’t do it ourselves so the scripture tell us..Praise the Lord!!!

Psalm 148 

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens;

Praise Him in the heights!

Praise Him, sun and moon;

Praise Him, all you stars of light!

Time is limited though!

God loves His creation, mankind, made in His image. This is why Jesus has not come yet:

2 Peter 3:9 

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

God is waiting as long as He can before He tells Jesus to come and get His people who have surrendered their lives to His Son Jesus who died for their sins. Those who have not will go to hell it is that simple.

So those who are saved have a job to do….spread the good news of Jesus!!! Those who are not saved…time is limited you better get right with God….NOW!

Same thing today!

Look at this verse:

Hosea 4:6a 

6a My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge,

The same thing is happening today. Many who claim to follow Jesus have an extreme lack of knowledge of the bible. Our guide book for life! How can this be??? Thus we vote and make unwise decisions that destroy us as a nation, and as followers of Jesus.

Get in the Word! Know what you believe and stand upon the Word of God!

First thank the Lord He has blessed you with another day!!! Then get ready and head out and be prepared to face it!

1 Corinthians 16:13 

13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Always be on watch for the devils tricks and temptations. Stand strong in what you believe in Jesus. Be brave and bold in the Lord. Stand strong and tackle this day as a servant of the Lord!!!

Every day is a battle but with the power of the Holy Spirit we can conquer each day and be pleasing to our Lord!

Things are not important!

Yes we have needs in life but we often desire many things we do not need and they can take us over if we are not extremely careful. This is why we are warned:

Luke 12:15 

15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Life is about our relationship with Jesus and others. Serving the Lord and others. 

So think about that this morning. Are you more concerned with Jesus or with making money so you can have more things?

Jesus knew it would be a problem for us and this is why he said “take heed and beware”!!!

Speak!

As Paul was called to do so are we:

Acts 18:9 

9 Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent;

Paul as a faithful follower of Jesus had many obstacles in His way, trying to keep Him from preaching the gospel. Many wanted him dead! But God reassured him to keep doing what he was doing, preaching the good news! God would protect him!

We are called by Jesus in the Great Commission to tell the good news of Jesus as well. So speak we MUST do no matter what society says and does to keep us quiet! 

So let us be faithful servants as Paul was…Speak!

Lift His Name Up!

Isaiah 25:1 

1 O Lord, You are my God.

I will exalt You,

I will praise Your name,

For You have done wonderful things;

Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Only One name deserves to be lifted up every second of every day and that is the One True God! Today and everyday exalt and praise His Holy Name!

God’s wonderful deeds are too numerous to list and He just keeps on doing more!

His Word couples us daily and the Words are truth and faithful. Oh what a loving God we have who gave us a guidebook for life in the bible!

So lift up the name of the Lord. Tell all about the awesome God we love and serve!

Patience=slow to anger

Let us do as this verse states:

Proverbs 14:29 

29 Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,

    but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

May we try to understand others. We usually have no idea what is going on in their life. May we be slow to lose our patience and try to understand where they are coming from without compromising our own faith.

If we let our temper shine forth then we become foolish and nobody wants to listen to a fool.

Strive to be like Jesus today!

Walk in Victory!

For the follower of Jesus, everyday we must remember this:

2 Corinthians 2:14a

14a Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ

We are victors because of Jesus! Jesus defeated sin and death upon the cross so we can have eternal life in heaven with God forever! We have triumphed by our faith in Jesus!!!! Praise the Lord!

Thank you Jesus and this day and everyday we will praise and worship You…for YOU alone are worthy!
