What Ya gonna choose?

God makes it very plain in hIs Word what should be most important in our lives:

Proverbs 8:10-11 

10 Choose my instruction instead of silver,
    knowledge rather than choice gold,
11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
    and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Are you choosing to learn and obey God's Word more than anything else in your life? The knowledge and wisdom God provides for us is the most valuable desire one can have, Sadly we tend to chose drugs, sex, alcohol, a relationship, money, and a host of others things than that which will last for an eternity!!! 

So what about it...you gonna follow God's advice or your own?

Are you desiring God?

I believe we are made for a desire for God. We are made in His image and until we have a relationship with Him we will not have a true understanding of life or a peace in life that only God can fulfill! So let me ask again....do you desire God?

Psalm 42:1

 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.

We need God! He is our only hope for eternity and for true life on this side of heaven. Seek Him! Find Him for He is not hiding but just waiting for you to come to Him! There is no true satisfaction in life until you have a personal relationship with Jesus! Too many want to try everything else under the sun when the answer is the Son Himself!

Seek God you won't be disappointed!

Who gives eternal life?

Jesus gives us the answer to the much asked question in the world, who gives eternal life?

John 10:28

28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Jesus is the only one who can provide eternal life. It is that simple. If you call upon Him as Lord and Savior of your life you can have eternal life, if you don't you won't. Also notice once you make that decision to follow Him, nothing can take that away!!!

Have you followed Jesus as Lord and Savior??? Today is the day!!!

Give some life!!!

What comes out of our mouths can have a big effect on people. God gave us that mouth to use wisely! Are we?

Proverbs 18:21a

21a Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

Let us give life to others! Not tear them down and take the life right out of them. Even in helping someone see the errors of their ways according to the bible we do it in love, patience, and humility just as out Lord Jesus did!

Be kind and love others! Let the love of Jesus shine through!

So thankful for the promises of my God! Knowing One day soon He will be coming to get me and take me home to heaven. This is the hope I have that gives me the strength I need each and every day! It is not a hope of wonder if it will happen but a hope of knowing it will happen when God says Go Get my children!

This is key to a life pleasing to the Lord....are you going to do it or try your own way?

As a follower of Jesus may we always strive for our talk and thoughts deep n our hearts be pleasing to our Lord!

Everything we say and do should be thought about and filtered by whether or not it is acceptable to out holy God. Let us be pleasing to God and bless Him as He has abundantly blessed us!

We all like to get phone calls. Especially from the one's we love. There is no ONE who loves us more than Jesus. He wants us to call out to Him as He is the One who provided salvation for all! Have you called out to Jesus? Repented of you sins and pledged to follow Him the rest of your days?

Steadfast???

Are you steadfast on the Lord? According to the dictionary, here is what steadfast means:

Steadfast- resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.

As a follower of Jesus there should be no question in our allegiance or obedience to Him. We must be steadfast!

Psalm 57:7 

7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
    my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!

When we are firm in our faith, it gives us a joy that comes out in a song in our hearts that is expressed with our lips!!! 

Yes Lord I am steadfast on you forever and always!!!!

Get to church with family!

I was blessed to be able to go to church with my mom this past weekend who lives 600 miles away from me. It got me to thinking about families and their church attendance. Most churches are shrinking but those who claim to be Christians are still abundant. Many seem have to either forgotten or forsaken the Word of God on this matter of gathering together with brothers and sisters in Christ:

Hebrews 10:25 

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

I have heard all the excuses but none of them override the Word of God. Let us arise and get our families together and get to church. Then we find a place to serve the Lord in that church as God has also directed us to do!

No more excuses! Obey the Word of God!
