In awe of God or something else?

I was looking on Facebook and seen where somebody had posted that a person had made them shake, cry, long for, etc. Not the first time I have seen this as I am sure you have seen the same. So it got me to thinking about how does God affect us? Does God have any movement in our lives or does something or someone of this world move us more? Think of ballgames, concerts, and other events where people go crazy over their team or band. Many times folks worship these things more than God!!! Ouch this ought not be so! How do you think this makes God feel? I think He calls anything we set before Him idols, and He hates them!

Look at what the bible says about how God should affect us:

Psalm 96:9
9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth!

Psalm 99:1
99 The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!

Psalm 22:23
23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!
All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him,
and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!

Psalm 33:8
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!

Luke 5:8
8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”

Just thinking about God and being in HIs presence one day...whew....so unworthy am I!!! So Let us think about God this day and how we hold Him in our lives. Is He in His proper place? On the throne of our hearts or is someone or something else there?

We must become fools! 4-6-15

Now that Easter is over.....

What a glorious day yesterday was....all those who come out to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Family gets together, we dress up, we go to church, we talk about Jesus, we eat, all of this is awesome. The day comes to an end and then here we are....Monday. Where does Jesus go? Do we continue to talk about Him, serve Him, and follow Him? Or do we put Him on the shelf with our many idols and pull down one of the others and go back to business as usual until Christmas or maybe Mothers day when we will go back to church to be with mom? These folks are called C ME Christians. (Christmas, Mother's Day, and Easter) These are the only times you see them. The only people they are fooling is themselves. Look what the bible says here:

1 Corinthians 15:3-5
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

Do you see what Paul delivered as FIRST IMPORTANCE.....Jesus! The gospel is to be of first importance in our lives everyday not just on a few select days of the year. Sit back for a moment and just think about this.

Once again I want to remind all of us these Words from Jesus, he says them to us as a warning:

Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Translation: Many are headed to hell, few are headed to heaven. Why? Many choose the world, Few choose to deny themselves and follow Jesus.

So what are you doing with Jesus today? Don't put Him on the shelf...let Him be Lord of your life every second of everyday! He died and rose again for you!

Healing was provided!

On this day that we remember what Jesus did for us on the cross let us remember this:

Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Jesus provided us with healing from our sins! His wounds, His blood provide for our salvation! Oh how thankful we are Lord Jesus, we praise your Holy Name.

We also pray for the foolish ones who don't believe, that their veils will be removed and the blind will see the light you offer to the lost world.
