We need to be reminded of this verse often:
Mark 8:36
36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Are we more concerned about the material things of this world or our following our Lord? The basic teaching of the bible is to work to meet our needs to survive and then all our efforts are to be serving the Lord. Is that our lifestyle? Generally our life styles are to work to meet our needs and to get all our wants and then fit a little Jesus in if we find the time. This is why we need to read this verse often. For the bible says:
Matthew 6:21
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Is our heart in things of the world or is our heart in our Lord? Don't lose your soul over the world!
