Do you know what the work of God is?

According to the scriptures this is the work of God:

John 6:29

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

The work of God is to convince us through the power of the Holy Spirit that we believe in Jesus whom He sent! God desires all of us to come to Jesus for He desires that none should perish!

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

So the question for all of us is are you allowing God to do His work in your life? He wants you to have a personal relationship with Jesus by repenting of your sins, trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and following Him for the rest of your life. Please let God work in you!

If I can ever help you just shoot me a note!

Think deeply on these!

In conversation with a brother in Christ yesterday I was reminded of this verse. How appropriate for the days we are living in right now!

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Our minds are drawn in by the news of covid-19, violence in major cities, and many other worldly things. We are told here not to think on those things!!!! Focus on this things of God...truth, noble, just, pure, lovely, good report, virtue, and praiseworthy!!! These things will ease our minds and anxiety. These things remind us of Jesus.
So let us do as God's Word says....it will sooth our souls!

Continued Praise!

Only ONE deserves continual praise!

Hebrews 13:15

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips,
giving thanks to His name.
That ONE is Jesus the ONE who took the sins of the world to the cross and died for each of us!
Notice in this verse:
1. By Him...by the blood of Jesus who chose to die for you and me.
2. Continually...should be happening always from those who love Him.
3.Sacrifice of praise...offering up praise may cost you something....like time or doing something else you would like to do. Jesus is worth it.
4. Fruit of our lips....sweet tasting praise to the Lord. Oh how good it is!
5. Giving thanks to His name.....all good things come from the Lord...thank Him continually!

Let us asl faithful followers give the praise due to our Savior, Lord, and King!

The Light that shines!

There is a Light that has come and will never be extinguished!

John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
That Light is Jesus. He has come and revealed sin and truth to the world by His mouth...The Word of God. This Light will never be put out and in the end will bring His Kingdom to the earth and will rule forever.
We will either chose to follow the Light or we will chose to follow darkness. Jesus or Satan. It is our choice. Remember the Light will shine forever but darkness will be eliminated!!!
Come to Jesus! He is waiting for you!!!

All day, everyday!

Let these Words be in our hearts, on our minds, and flowing from our mouths everyday, all day long!

1 Chronicles 16:34

34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

1. Thank you Lord---God is the One who deserves thanks above all!!! So let's give it to Him!
2. God is good---Man can not say this about himself for we are sinners but God is holy therefore He is good!
3. God is merciful---We deserve hell and eternal punishment but God in His great mercy provided His Son to save us from that hell. Oh Thank you Lord!

We have much to be thankful for!!! Do we praise God everyday, all day like He deserves???

Look at me!!!

Something to chew on today. As a follower of Jesus, do I put others first or do I want all the attention. The Word of God warns us about this:

Luke 11:43

43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
Jesus often criticized the Pharisees for being hypocrites. They appeared righteous on the out side but they were fakes! It was all about themselves. Let us be careful to put God first, others second, and ourselves last as Jesus did!
Think about this today...am I pointing folks to Jesus and serving others or do I want attention for myself and want to be recognized every time I do something for the Lord.

What do you choose?

For the follower of Jesus we have made a choice to be faithful to God and His Word.

Psalm 119:30

30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    set your rules before me.

Are you following the Word of God? Are you being faithful to God. These are valid questions all need to ask themselves. God desires us to be holy and the only way to do that is to be faithful and obey the Word!

It is all up to each individual...what are you going to do?

Talk godly!

Think about how Jesus talked to people. We need to do the same. Read this verses:

Colossians 4:6

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
1. Speak with grace. God shows us grace and He wants us to show others grace and it starts with what comes out of our mouths!
2. Salt---preserves or flavors. Does what comes out of our mouths preserve or does it cause whom we are talking to start to rot? Let us be salt! Build them up and help them!
3. Pray that the Lord with fill your mouth and mind with the Holy Spirit so we know how we ought to answer others. Let our speech be holy and point people to Jesus not away from Him!
Let's represent our King well and speak godly not evilly!!!

Need some good news?

If you need some good news here it is:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Jesus is coming!!! One day soon He will return from heaven to get those who have died and are in Him because they surrendered their lives to Him as Lord and Savior. Then those who are still living and also surrendered their lives to Jesus will be called up to Jesus and both the dead and alive in Jesus will be with Him our Lord forever and ever in heaven! Now that is good news!!!
Be warned though....this is for ONLY those who follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! There is bad news for those who reject Jesus and live for the world....Hell forever! BUT I have some good news you can still give your life to Jesus....call on Him today! If ya need help give me a call and I will help you!!!
Share the good news with others....it is encouraging!!!

In trying times....

In trying times remember this:

Psalm 94:19

19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.

God is with you and God will comfort you. Why would we go anywhere else than God??

1 Peter 5:7

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Knowing this makes me feel better already!!!
Thank you Lord for being in my life and concerned about all areas of my life. Their is no better place to turn than you with my life. I love you and praise you this day and everyday!

Are you bringing God glory?

For the follower of Jesus, we need to be reminded of this verse often:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1. God the Holy Spirit lives in us.
2. God blessed us with the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us in our daily walk.
3. If we are followers of Jesus we belong to God. We are His children.
4. We were bought by Jesus when He died for us on the cross and we gave pour lives to Him as Lord and Savior.
5. Since we are God's we are to glorify Him in everything we do with our bodies and spirits for they belong to God!
Are we bringing God glory in every area of our lives? Do what needs to be done to do so!

Roman Road #5

The final step in the Roman Road just sums everything up!

Romans 10:13

13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
This reminds us that God loves all and desires all to be saved. Anyone who calls upon Jesus and submits to Him as Lord and Savior of their life will be saved! What an awesome God!!!
When you lead someone down the Roman Road and they want to give their life to Jesus then help them to pray to God, repenting of their sin, asking Jesus to come into their life as Lord and Savior. Your job with this new believer has just begun!!! Now you need to disciple them. Help them to grow in their faith by showing and teaching them what the bible says to do as a follower of Jesus. Find a bible believing and teaching church to be a part of, get baptized, read and study the bible, pray, find a place in the church to serve, love others, and share the gospel with others is some of the things to start out with.
The Roman Road is an easy tool to learn and use to bring the lost to the Lord. You can't go wrong using the Word of God!!! Use it!!!

Romans #4

If you become a follower of Jesus there are some fundamentals you must do to follow. We will touch on them on this step of the Roman road.

Romans 10:9

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
1. We must repent of our sins. This is not stated here but we must be sorry our sin against God. Confess that we are sinners to God and ask Him to forgive us. Here is a verse stating that:

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2. After we repent and confess our sin to God, we then confess that Jesus is Lord! Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus is the Savior who took your sins upon the cross and died for you! So you can be right in God's eyes by His shed blood.
3.We also must believe that after Jesus died, he was buried in the tomb and on the third day resurrected from the dead and is ALIVE! If Jesus did not rise from the dead then our faith is dead!
4. Jesus appeared to over 500 people and then ascended back to the Father where He sits at the right hand of God awaiting for God to tel, Him to come and get His children. Those who have put their faith in Jesus the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
For a follower of Jesus there are several things that are musts to be a follower of Jesus:
1. Belief in virgin birth.
2. Belief in Jesus sinless life
3. Belief Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world especially your own.
4. Belief in the resurrection.
5. Belief that Jesus ascended back to the Father.
6. Belief that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to indwell us so God can be with a follower at all times.
7. Belief that Jesus will return to take His followers home and set His Kingdom up to reign forever!
Are you a follower of Jesus? Today is your day if you never have before! Come to Jesus you won't regret it!!

Roman Road #3

The third point we want to make when sharing the gospel by the Roman Road method is God's love:

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God loves everyone. John 3:16 the most famous verse of the bible says "God so loved the world". Even when we are sinners God loves us and wants us to repent of our sins and come to Him by faith in His Son Jesus. For when we were sinners Jesus went to the cross carrying our sins to sacrifice Himself for our sin. Not His sin because He is sinless but our sins!!! Now that is love to lay your life down for somebody else's sin!
Know Jesus loves you and Jesus died for you. Give your life to Him today!

Roman Road #2

Yesterday we learned all of us are sinners in the eyes of a Holy God. Thus we need help to be to be in a relationship with Him because He will not be in the presence of sin. I have some good news!!!

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
First the bad news...because we are sinners we will die. We die physically but we also die spiritually because we are separated from God because of our sin.
Now the good news. God has a gift for you! God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins thus He defeated sin and death on the cross and when He resurrected from the grave! Jesus took your place and your sins on the cross! We deserve death and hell for our rebellion against God but God in His great love gave us a gift....Jesus His only Son!!!
When you repent of your sins and put your faith and love in Jesus and make Him Lord and Savior of your life you obtain eternal life with God in heaven forever. there is no other way to heaven but Jesus. That is God's gift to us out of His great mercy and grace for those He made in His image.
So it is up to each individual to accept or reject the gift of God....Jesus! Which ever you choose has eternal consequences. Choose wisely.

Roman Road #1

Over the years you may have heard of the Roman Road. The Roman Road is some verses from the bible many use to lead others to Jesus to be saved from their sins and to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. So over the next several days I want to take you down the Roman Road so you will can lead others to Jesus. We are commanded to share the gospel with others so they may obtain eternal life in heaven but more importantly have a personal relationship with Jesus!

The first scripture is:

Romans 3:23

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
All need to know we are sinners!!!! Every single person ever born on this earth are sinners except Jesus! We sin against a Holy God and in our sin we can not bring Him glory. He made us to bring Him glory and have a relationship with Him. We can not have a relationship with God in our sin. God gave us His laws to live by in the old testament. These laws reveal to us how sinful we are as we can not keep them. Look at the ten commandments. We have broken all of them according to the Word of God. So we have a problem. How can we have a relationship with God then if we are sinners?
The only answer is Jesus!
Stay tuned the rest of the week as we walk down the Roman Road together.

Choose friends carefully.

God's word covers every area of life. Here we even see He teaches us about choosing friends:

Proverbs 12:26

26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully,
For the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Followers of Jesus are only righteous because of Jesus. He died for our sins and thus we as followers of Him have become righteous by faith alone in Him as Lord and Savior. As followers we are told here to choose our friends carefully. Find friends who are also followers of Jesus. They will help us grow in our faith. However if we choose friends who follow the worlds ways they will lead us away from Jesus and to sin!
We also have a duty to lead the lost to the Lord so we will have friends who are of the world but our closest friends whom we spend much time with should be followers of Jesus!

Heed the Word of God!

Be blessed!

The Lord tells us how to be blessed:

Proverbs 8:32-33

32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.

Several points to catch here:
1. To be blessed you have to be one of His children. You must follow Jesus as Lord and Savior.
2. You must listen to the Lord.
3. You must keep His ways as defined by His Word....the bible.
4. You must listen to His instruction which can come from His Word or the Holy Spirit.
5. To be wise is to do what He tells you.
6. Never think God's instruction is un worthy to be considered (disdain).

Be blessed....do things God's way!
