The most important thing in life is not your material worth, it is your standing with God! God desires us to bd right before Him and the only way we can do that is by faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Then we are to strive to live a life obedient to the Word of God!
So don't worry about your money, worry about your integrity before the Almighty God!

But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
We have no doubt God reigns in heaven! Because He is God He does whatever He wants! The good news is that because God is good all He does is what is best for His creation!
We must not forget who our God is and what our God does! We must tell others about Him and what He has done for our salvation through His Son Jesus Christ!

The only place to go for hope and protection for eternity is God! He has given us His Word for guidance to our lives and His Son to provide for our salvation. Why would even try anything else????

“The love of money is a root of all kinds of evils.” —1 Timothy 6:10
Notice this verse says "love of money" not money itself. Money is neutral neither good nor evil. It os our love of money and the things that can be done with money that can be evil. Money rules many peoples lives as they use it to sin against God and His Word. Don't let that be you!
May we use God's blessing of money to meet needs and glorify His name!

Psalm 63:3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.
God is love and God is kind. He pours out both upon us and has proved it by offering His Son Jesus up for our sins. WOW! What more could God do than provide salvation for sinners such as us so we can be with Him forever in heaven for eternity???
So because of God's lovingkindness we shall praise Him all the day long! Yes He is worthy of it all! Have you given God praise this day?

2 Corinthians 9:7
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Since we have had the flood here in Waverly I have seen so many folks give to others in so many ways. Time, money, goods, food, labor, ect. As followers of Jesus we are to give to others and to give joyfully. Everything we have belongs to God so when we give it away it brings glory to him when it is helping others.

Nations can build their weapons. Man can fight and try to rule people. It will not matter in the end who has a little power because Jesus wins! He will be King and Lord of all! So the question is not how to gain all the power in the world, the question is have you put you faith in Jesus and surrendered your life to Him?

As followers of Jesus we are to be on the lookout for those who are less fortunate than us. We are to listen to them when they cry out for help. Then we are to act and help the best way we can. We must heed the warning that if we just walk away when we cry out for help we will not be heard!
Help the poor!!! Be like Jesus!

I read this quote this morning from Tony Evans "Love is something you do, not merely something you say"
Love must be something we show people not just something we say. For with out action it won't mean much! Jesus is an example of this as He showed his love to people while living on this earth He proved His love ultimately by going to the cross to die for man's sin, Oh what love He has for you and for me!
So ask your self this morning are you showing your love by actions not just mouth service. Show others your love for them!
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
When you put your faith in Jesus you are free from the sin which had a hold on you! Don't go back to what help you in bondage! Live in the freedom and peace that Jesus provided for all who follow and love Him!!!

Get some rest this day and be with family. This is what we usually do on Labor Day! I want to remind us what one of things the bible says about work:
John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Jesus did not try to soften the truth to us. He gave us everything straight forward. Here He tells us we will have problems in this world. All of us can say amen to that! BUT the good news is Jesus have overcome the world and soon will come back and set up His Kingdom and reign over all for eternity. This is why we have hope and have peace in life.
Put your trust in Jesus for in the end we have victory!
