Thankful for others!

 Philippians 1:3-5

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,

Do you ever take time to thank others who have helped you and worked with you in the church? Please do! So many have helped me in my walk with Jesus and so many have worked beside me in spreading the good news of Jesus. I thank God for everyone of them for they have shaped into who I am today. As we see above Paul felt the same way...thank others.

We also need to pray for them. If we only knew how many over the years lifted us up in prayer we would be shocked. Lift them up as well as there is power in prayer. God loves us, listens to us, and does what is best for us.

So take time to thank and pray for those who have walked this life in Jesus with you!

Test of Know Jesus

 1 John 2:3-6

The Test of Knowing Him

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1. Do you keep His commandments?

2. Do you walk like Jesus did?

We know we will not do these two things perfectly but we should be striving to do them perfectly each day!

Do you know Jesus?

Love others like Jesus

 John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

This is a key to being obedient to Jesus in our everyday lives. Love others like He has loved us. Think of how many issues in life would be solved if everyone did this.

So today be like Jesus and love others no matter the cost!

God will do what He says!

 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward [a]us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Never forget God will do what He says! In His mercy, grace, and love He is giving as much time as He can for all to repent of their sins, put their faith in Jesus, and follow Him the rest of their lives. The time is running short for one day soon He will send Jesus back to take His children home who have obeyed His Word! Don't wait! Give yourself to God now!

Good report!

 Proverbs 15:30

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,

And a good report makes the bones healthy.

The light of the eyes....who is the light? Jesus

A good report...who is the good news? Jesus

Share the light and share the gospel for it will make folks rejoice and bring healing! The answer for everything in life is Jesus! May we never forget that!

Who redeems your life from destruction?

 Psalm 103

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The love of God redeems us from the destruction that comes in life in so many forms. Let us not forget that. May we bless the Lord today in our service and love to Him and others!

Hope when tribulations come!

 Romans 12:12

12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

My hometown just experienced a major flood that has destroyed part of the city. This verse is what we need right now among us believers.

1. Rejoice in the hope we have. What is the hope we have? Jesus!!! He is with us...He loves us....and He will be coming for us soon! Keep our focus where it belongs on Him!

2. Patient in our trouble. While it may not seem like it now this hard time will pass. Let us be patient with ourselves and others. Keep the faith and share it with the hurting.

3. Continue in prayer! Our communication with God! Pray all the time. For yourself, for others, and for your love of God!

Be the hands and feet of Jesus brothers and sisters and remember we are just passing through this side of heaven headed for home with Jesus!

Living a godly life?

“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” 2 Timothy 3:12

If we are followers of Jesus we should openly live for Jesus and proclaim His gospel. When we do this it will offend many and we will face some sort of persecution. Here in the states at this moment it will be less than in Iran. One day this may not be so!

So are you facing any form of persecution for you faith in Jesus? We should be because many oppose Jesus but our work for Him must go on!

What is guiding your path?

 Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.

As you walk through this life what are you using to light up the path you are on? Is the world trying to show you the way? If so your path is dark and you will stumble and fall often and never get to the destination God has for you. Or are you letting the Word of God light up your path to guide you on your way to ever lasting life with God and bringing Him glory in your day to day life?

It is your choice what are you going to do?

Glorify God!

 Matthew 5:16

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

As followers of Jesus our main job is to share the gospel, love others, and do good works. All of this we should do for the sole purpose of bringing glory to our heavenly Father. This should be our life....doing everything to the glory of God!

Is this what your life looks like? It should!

Keep eyes on the Lord!

 Psalm 119:37

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.

WE often need to ask the Lord to help us stay focused on Him not the worthless things of this world that try to get our attention. Heis our WAY nothing else will do! We also need revivng at times as we seem to slow down in our zeal for Him! Lord help us saty on fire for you at all times and live for you in all areas of our lives!!!

Stay focused brothers and sisters and bring glory to the Lord!

Of God!

 1 John 4:4

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Things to remember as followers of Jesus from this verse:

1. You are of God!!!

2. You have overcome through Jesus!

3. God who lives in you by way of the Holy Spirit is greater than  Satan who rules the world(the lost).

Thankful to be of God who have given me victory through Jesus!!! How about you?

Mercy and comfort

 2 Corinthians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

No matter what we go through in life as a child of God we receive the mercy and comfort we need at just the right time to help us through the situation. Be thankful that we serve a God who is the Father of mercy and the Father of comfort!!! Then when we get through the situation we are to use it to help others!

Praise God for His mercy and comfort for He loves us deeply!

Strength or destruction?

 Proverbs 10:29

The way of the Lord is strength for the upright,

But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.

Obviously the best way in life is God's way! He gives strength to those who obey His Word! On the other hand those who chose to sin will come tumbling down in more ways than one!

It is your choice....the ways of God or the ways of Satan. Chose wisely!!!

Goal for us!

Here is our goal for every second of every day!

 Ephesians 5:1

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

If we can complete our goal then we will be glorifying our Lord! If we can love others the way God loves others and if we can love ourselves the way God loves us we can do this! Thankfully God also allows us to confess our sins because to often we fail in imitating God! When we do we thank God for His forgiveness and start again trying to imitate Him!!!

Oh what an honor to try and imitate Jesus!!!! For He is perfect!

The Lord loves...

 Proverbs 3:11-12

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,

Nor detest His correction;

For whom the Lord loves He corrects,

Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Just like a good father or mother when a child needs correction they will receive it so they will not do it again and hurt themselves, our Father in heaven does the same to us! We need correction and God gives it to those who are His children.

Don't despise the discipline from the Lord, be thankful for He is trying to make you more like Him!

Whats your foundation?

There is only ONE foundation in which to build on:

Acts 4:11-12

11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Is your foundation started with the chief cornerstone(Jesus) or have you tried something else? Another god or idol to build your foundation upon?

It is clear in God's Word that ONLY ONE provides salvation and that ONE is Jesus. So don't even try anything else for it will fail! Have victory, Have God, Have Jesus who loves you so very much! He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings! He is the Messiah!

Conclusion

Here is the conclusion of Soloman the wisest man who ever lived:

 Ecclesiastes 12:13

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:

Fear God and keep His commandments,

For this is man’s all.

This is the truth of this life we live on this earth:

1. Fear God!

2. Obey God's Word

3. This is everything to man!

What conclusion have you made? This truth or have you made your own false conclusion?

Mocking Jesus

Can you imagine the hurt Jesus felt as He was dying for these folks sin and they were making fun of Him?

Mark 15:31-32

31 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.”Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.

They were even unknowingly telling Jesus not to provide salvation by coming down from the cross which is one of the essential parts to salvation....sheding blood and death in our place to pay for our sins!

So thankful Jesus knows our fleshly hearts and knew how ignorant we are of what we need.....Him!!!!

Lord forgive us of our ignorance and thank you for all you provide for us including salvation for those who believe!
