What to do in New Year???

Key for the new year:

Matthew 6:33a

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness

Really simple!

1. FIRST....SEEK GOD! Everyday seek God and talk to Him. Ask Him to lead the way everyday! Seek Him it is you job to go after Him!

2. Second...SEEK HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! Live a holy righteous life! Treat others the way Jesus treated others. Be like Jesus!

1 Peter 1:16

16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Start the New Year off right....Seek God!
Happy New Year!

Wanna go to a movie?

Think on this: If you claim you be a follower of Jesus and I told you a movie used GD 8 times would you go see it?
Here is the review for a movie that is out now by plugged in online: We hear a surprising 15 misuses of God and Jesus’ names (combined), including a whopping eight pairings of God’s name with “d--n.”
Want to know what this movie is??? It will shock you.....Jumanji-the next level
““You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:7‬ ‭
Is it pleasing to God to go to movies and take train our kids that this is ok?
What about TV shows?
Or What about music we listen to?
Then we need to start thinking about other things being shoved down our throats but we continue to support in entertainment like homosexuality, drunkenness, drugs, ect, ect. ect.
Are we ever gonna make a stand for God or just keep fitting into the world???

Think on that!

Admit it to God!

When we sin as followers of Jesus, we are told in the bible we have a responsibility to do something with that sin....confess it to God.

Proverbs 28:13

13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

God in His love for us will show us mercy and forgiveness if we confess our sin. But if we chose to hide it and not confess it then as this verse say we will not prosper as we will not receive that mercy and forgiveness. So get it out!

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Be free...admit your sins to God!

I got the victory!!!!

As followers of Jesus, we must remember everyday no matter what that day brings....We got the victory in Jesus!!!

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

Thank you Heavenly Father for sending your son to die on the cross for my sin!!! I have victory over sin, Satan, and hell!!!!

Less talk!

The bible teaches we should talk when we only have something worth while to say. Hmmm think on that in the society we live in now!

“He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.” Proverbs 17:27-28

Just think of the difference it would make if this world would only talk when it has something important to say! Less hurt feelings, less hurt, and hopefully less nonsense!!! When it comes right down to it the most important thing right now to talk about is talked about very little.....JESUS!

Talk less about worldly things and talk more about Jesus!!! Sounds good don't it???

Believe I need work!

When I read this verse, I immediately thought I need to do some work here...what about you???

1 Corinthians 16:14

14 Do everything in love.
Many things I do, I do out of obligation not love. God tells us here to do EVERYTHING in love. Why did He say this? One reason is that people can tell this difference between obligation and doing something out of love. When we do it out of love then it may open a door to share the gospel. Doing things out of obligation will most likely not give us such an opportunity!
So let's do all in love! Like God told us to do and make a difference some peoples lives!

Don't be a liar!

Are you a liar? Judge yourself by God's Word:

1 John 2:22

22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.
If you deny God the Father or the Savior Jesus Christ His Son then you are a liar. It can not be any simpler that that. Unrepentant, unforgiven liars go to hell.
Don't be a liar!

And He Did!

Thank you Lord:

Isaiah 25:9

And it will be said in that day:
“Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”

Jesus saved us! He is Lord! He provided salvation for us by His shed blood! Oh how He loves us!

Now we await His return to take us to our home in heaven forever! There is only One God and His name is Jesus!

We praise you Lord!

Chew on this today...

Just keep this in your mind today and think about what God did for you and me:

Isaiah 9:6a

For unto us a Child is born,

God gave us a child, His son, Jesus. The purpose of giving us that child, to die for sins you and I committed so that we may obtain salvation through faith in this child.

God loves us deeply!

One Reason We are different.

As a follower of Jesus, one of the marks that we are different should be this:

Matthew 5:44

44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
Jesus did this and He expects us to do the same. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit can we do this. Our own human nature wants us to retaliate but God wants us to show His love with the purpose that person may see the love of God in us so they may want to change and find Jesus for themselves.
If we say we can't do this we may want to look at our relationship with the Lord for this is a command not an option!

Heart glad

Only one way for your heart to be glad!!!

Psalm 16:7-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.

One must be in the Lord to be glad in the heart! You must take counsel from Him by the Word and prayer. God will instruct you if you seek Him. Set all your ways before Him and strive to obey Him in all areas of your life. He is with you at all times! When you do these things you will be glad and you will have hope which equals a peace in your life beyond your own understanding!

God is good!!!!

All sin

Remember what Jesus said to those who were wanting to kill the woman caught in adultery???

John 8:7

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
It is very easy to look at other peoples sin but we need to remember we are all guilty of sin and need to be saved by the only One who can save....Jesus!
Let us look at ourselves and get right with God!

All God

A reminder this morning that salvation is all of God!!!

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
A gift from God. We have done nothing for salvation. God loves us so much that He gives us an opportunity to be saved.
Think on that today! Nobody loves you like God loves you!!!

Are you dwelling in love?

God makes it clear in His Word that He is love and if we are a follower of Him then we need to dwell in love:

1 John 4:16

16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
So if we dwell in love we not only love God but we are to love others. It is not an option. As Jesus demonstrated in His life here on earth, He loved others. He even died for the sins of others...think on that!
So let us love others as God loves us. Even when it is very hard to do!
