Do we have blood on our hands?

Read this verse this morning and it reminded me of the importance of sharing the truth no matter what others think!

Ezekiel 33:7-9
7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

While this was not written directly to us as it was written to Ezekiel as a prophet to Israel. It does serve as a warning to us as a messenger of the gospel of Jesus Christ. WE have the same responsibility...to share the truth of sin and its consequences and the love and mercy of Jesus and His forgiveness. If we keep this life saving news to ourselves should we think we will be any less guilty than Ezekiel? I think not!

Ezekiel's message was not popular and neither is the message of Jesus, but we must stand against sin and for the truth of Jesus. In all honesty we all will have blood on our hands because we let opportunities to share Jesus slip by, may we all keep this to a minimum and reap the forgiveness of Jesus when we fail!
