Roman Road #5

Well we have reached the end of the road...the Roman road that is...ok my humor needs work. Let's get into the devotion.

The last verse we use in the Roman road is Roman's 10:13 but I want to look at the two verses before thirteen too! So here they are:

Romans 10:11-13 (New King James Version)

11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

These are some great words and great promises too. Verse 11 says for those who believe on Jesus will not be put to shame. Shame in front of who??? God. Remember the verse that told us if we are ashamed of Jesus before man He will be ashamed of us before the Father. Well here is the promise that God will not be ashamed of us!!! The next verse is another great promise for us Gentiles! Even though the Jews are God's chosen people if we accept Christ He makes no distinction between us. In other words we are joint heirs in eternal life in heaven...that should make us want to shout out some praises to God!

Then verse 13 is what we use in the final step of the Roman road. It tells us very plainly that God is not partial. Whoever calls upon the name of Jesus will be saved. Thank you Jesus...thank you! Again I want to say there is nothing we have done to earn this it is all by the grace and mercy of our glorious
Lord.

Isn't it great to know all we have to do is call upon Jesus to be Lord of our life and as Jesus said "It is finished!" Praise be to God!

See ya tomorrow!

Tom
