Greed #3

Lets close this week out by continuing our look at greed. I don't know about you but it has really hit me between the eyes! Our greed leads us to may kins of sin that is a result of our greed. Look at what Paul said here:



1 Timothy 6:10

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.



This verse has been quoted many times. Look at what is says....loving money is root for all kinds of evil! It goes on to say this greed brings many sorrows (like debt). Wow how many of us have had to find that out the hard way. Just think about what you see and read in the news and how much of it results from greed for more money or things. Murder, robbery, unethical business practices and the list goes on and on.



The main point here is this: when we open the door to greed, we also let in all types of other sin that goes along with it. Also we worry about non-eternal things when our minds should be on the eternal things of God!



Brothers and sisters, when you hear greed knocking at your door, don't let it in!
