People can talk, your deeds are proof!

I found it very interesting the other day as I was reading of some things that were said about John the Baptist, and Jesus, check it out here:

Matthew 11:18-19

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”


The so called righteous of the day accused them of being of the devil, a glutton, a drunkard, and friends of sinners. Hmmm very interesting. People can say what they want and we can not do much to stop a mouth from running. But what we can do is be proven by our deeds that we are walking with Christ! Look at what Jesus said at the end of verse 19: "Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.” In other words he is saying your wisdom is proved in your deeds. What you do consistently proves who you are on the inside!


Have you ever noticed Jesus did not seem to pay much attention to what people said? He may quote some scripture or give a reply for a teaching point for us but He did not spend a whole lot of time on what people said. Why? Because He knew what God's will for Him was and He was focused on completing that job! The same should go for us, it don't matter what people say, we need to focus on the job at hand, loving people (including sinners), spreading the gospel, and serving others!


So let your deeds do the speaking for you! Follow Jesus! Who cares what people say!
