Why resolutions usually don’t work!

As we head into a new year tonight many will put their hope in a resolution for something. In a few weeks they usually fail. Why? Resolutions fail because it is in our own power to accomplish it. Our own will. So why do we set ourselves up for this every year???
This year we may need to do this...put all our hope in something that will last forever...Jesus! 

Romans 5:1-2 “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Not only is Jesus our hope that will last He gives us power through the Holy Spirit to overcome everything!

Romans 8:26-27 “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

So if you need help with something this year that is in accordance with God’s Word don’t go after it with your own power call on Jesus! He loves you and desires you to be the best you you can be! He will not forsake you! Reach out to Him now!
