Revelation #15

Lets continue looking at the throne in heaven this morning!

Revelation 4:6-11

6 And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: 7 the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. 8And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,

"Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,

who was and is and is to come!"

9And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 "Worthy are you, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they existed and were created."

The latter part of verse 6 says around the throne are four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The number 4 represents the world or the earth. The eyes represent God who is all knowing and he moves through out the human race. In verse seven it is revealed to us what each animal is. The first is a lion which represents God's royalty. The second is an ox which represents God's sacrificial meekness. The third is had face of a man which represents God's supreme intelligence. The forth animal was like an eagle in flight which represents God's all seeing judgement. Verse 8 tells us all these creatures had 6 wings. The number 6 is the number of man so this tells us God is involved in the affairs of man. Again we are told they have eyes all around which we now know means God sees all and knows all. We also see in this verse they are always involved day and night. They are also never ceasing to lift praise up to God! Verse 9 and10 are awesome! When theses creatures give glory to God the twenty-four elders fall down to the ground from their thrones and cast put their crowns on the ground and worship God!!! This a great example that there will be no boasting in heaven but that God alone receives the honor and glory. They praise God as we see in verse 11 for His creation including themselves!

I am thankful God created me! I hope you feel the same about yourself!
